According to official data, about 1,800 boats and over 15,000 participants on the water took part in the jubilee 20th Drina regatta, which was held yesterday in Ljubovija.
The event itself has been attended by more than 30,000 visitors in the past few days. Nice weather and great atmosphere provided enjoyment to all participants of the great
downhill in the length of 40 kilometers from Rogačica to Ljubovije. The Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, Tatjana Matić, opened the regatta and congratulated the organizers
wished the participants calm water, good conduct and reminded them to guard the river.
"The jewel of the Drina River, the Drina Regatta, is in many ways one of the most important tourist ones
projects of our country. As the largest event on the water in Europe, the Drina regatta attracts almost 20,000 satisfied participants, who gladly return. Being a tourist
trends in the post-covid period are moving more and more in the direction of active tourism and immediate experience of nature, this area should use a great opportunity for accelerated tourism growth," Matic said.
The President of the Municipality of Ljubovija, Milan Jovanović, also wished a welcome to the guests and a peaceful voyage. A break during the voyage was made in
Gornja Trešnjica, where, according to tradition, military beans were served free of charge, and then the participants headed towards the goal in Ljubovija. From 9 pm at the FC Drina stadium as the crown of the whole concert of the Balkan star Svetlana Ceca Raznatovic was held at the event. There were over 20,000 people at the concert, and the short shower only gave a special charm to the event. Day earlier at the same place, the concert was held by another great star Marija Serifovic.
