Vašar is a form of public gathering. The main purpose of the fair was for the locals to buy necessary things at a time when there were no stores in today's sense. It usually happens at the time of some church holiday, when it is red letter, and it is not allowed to work. It is so important the fact that all major fairs in Serbia are recorded even in the church calendar. Participants of the community, village and town where it takes place the fair wears festive clothes on that day. And the mood is festive. In the bazaar, information is placed, and it serves and for buying and selling livestock and other agricultural products.
On Mitrovdan, which is celebrated by the Serbian people as one of the biggest celebrations, the Mitrovdan fair is held in Ljubovija, an event that lives for decades. It is part of the intangible cultural heritage and tourist offer of our municipality, with the aim of preserving cultural and national heritage identity of the Serbian people. Mitrovdan fair, which is connected with the "Azbukovica Bazaar" event organized by the Tourist Organization municipality of Ljubovija takes place on November 8 on the streets of Ljubovija.
