The 22nd Drina regatta in Ljubovija has ended and while the impressions are slowly settling in, comments and praise for the organization are coming from the participants of our biggest manifestation. The traditional sailing from Rogačica to Ljubovija with a length of 40 kilometers took place in pleasant weather conditions and a great atmosphere for about 30,000 participants. Drina is in On Saturday, over 1,000 vessels sailed, and food was prepared on each one, along with good entertainment and drinks chilled in the river.
The days of the Drina Regatta began on June 26 and lasted until July 9, a sports competitions, cultural events, a program for the youngest and music concerts were held as part of the program. In recent days, Ljubovija was full of guests, accommodation facilities filled to the max, and restaurateurs and traders have reason to be very happy.
The Drina regatta was opened at 10 a.m. by Milan Jovanović, president of the Municipality of Ljubovija and Branko Lazić, basketball player and promoter of this year regatta. Lazić wished all participants calm water, a good time, but also appealed to everyone to preserve our natural beauty, the river Drina, urging them not to throw waste into the river.
At the 20th kilometer from the start, in Gornja Trešnjica, a lunch break was made, where military beans were served, and after sailing continued towards the destination in Ljubovia.
The Drina regatta is a tourist brand and trademark of the municipality of Ljubovija, its seal on the tourist map and one of the the biggest events in Serbia.
