The twenty-sixth Drina Regatta in Ljubovija once again confirmed its status as one of the largest and most visited tourist regattas manifestation in the region. This year's central descent on the river Drina, from Rogačica to Ljubovija, gathered around 15,000 participants with more than 1,500 vessels.
The row of boats passed through one of the most beautiful parts of the Drina, with socializing, music and the atmosphere for which the Ljubovia regatta is recognizable.
Traditionally, at the halfway point of the fairway, in Gornja Trešnjica, military beans were served to the participants, which was also one of the recognizable parts of the event this year.
According to the director of the Tourism Organization of the Municipality of Ljubovija, Ivana Smiljanić, this year's regatta showed how important this manifestation is for tourism and the promotion of Ljubovija.
- The twenty-sixth Drina regatta once again confirmed that Ljubovija has an event that gathers a large number of participants and visitors from Serbia, the region and abroad. About 1,500 vessels and more than 15,000 participants are the best indicator of the importance of the regatta for the promotion of our municipality, the Drina and the tourist potential of this region. We thank you to all participants, visitors, volunteers, security services, partners and sponsors who contributed to the successful, safe and great atmosphere - said Ivana Smiljanić.
The event program is completed with evening concerts. On Saturday, July 11, Peđa Jovanović performed, whose according to the organizers, the concert attracted around 9,000 visitors. On Sunday, July 12, a concert was held by Bojan Marović, which ended this year's program of the Drina regatta.
Thanks to the good organization and coordination of the competent services, the central descent took place without incident. The members took care of the safety of the participants police, rescue teams, fire-rescue units, emergency medical assistance and police services.
The organizers thanked all the participants for responsible behavior and respect for navigation rules, as well as to everyone who contributed to the successful realization of the event with their work and support. This year's Drina regatta showed once again that Ljubovija and Drina have the strength to gather a large number of lovers of nature, tradition and good fellowship, confirming the importance of this manifestation for development of tourism and promotion of Azbukovica.
