We take you to the enchanting world of the Bobija mountain, the hidden gem of Western Serbia! Located in a picturesque
area known as Azbukovica, this mountain rises between the right bank of the Drina River and the spectacular
mountain ranges of Sokol, Jablanik, and Medvednik, and the canyon of the river Trešnjica.
Bobija is 140 km from Belgrade, and 30 km from Ljubovia. The dominating landscape of this beautiful region is its highest
peak, Tornička Bobija, whose high cliffs rise to 1,272 meters above sea level. The geological composition is
diverse, but dominated by Triassic sandstones.
Apart from nature, you can also find history on this mountain. The oldest confirmed remains of life in Azbukovica
they are related to the younger Stone Neolithic Age, while the Bronze Age in this area is characterized by burials
mounds (tumuli). The people usually call them "mounds" or "bobies", so it is assumed that the mountain is Bobija po
named after them. On the mountain itself is the home of Srbijašuma, their forest house is a building with a landscaped yard and
very interesting details. Namely, with this facility and the trail itself, you will notice that someone really made an effort to
beautifies these already beautiful landscapes by installing wooden tables, benches and marking paths.
Bobija is adorned with conifer and beech forests, pastures and glades. The largest villages are Savkovići (Donji and Gornji) and Gornje Košlje
which includes numerous hamlets. The population is mostly engaged in animal husbandry and fruit growing, produce
quality milk, cheese and cream. From fruit growing, plums and raspberries are represented. For the population in the villages on the slopes of Bobija
Raspberry production is the main source of income.
It is difficult to find this mountain on tourist maps, but it is a true paradise for all nature lovers. The advantage of this mountain
above the rest is the fact that in one day you can make a phenomenal circular tour through the Tribuća canyon, deciduous
forest, huge rocks and sections where griffon vultures are waiting for you (the junction of the Trešnjica and Tribuće canyons), a viewpoint towards
Drina and at the end of the dense coniferous forest. The ridge line that stretches along the mountain offers wonderful vantage points and
view of untouched nature, the beauty of this mountain is additionally contributed by the canyons of the rivers Trešnjica, Tribuća, Sušice and
Ljubovidje. Apart from Tornička Bobija (1272m), the mountain has many more peaks, some of them with a slightly lower altitude
in height are: Oštra stena, Opaljena stena, Crni vrh, Rilo, Palež, Krušik.
Due to the variety of terrain, flora and fauna, the terrains are perfect for hunters, mountaineers and hikers. All tracks
are marked for hikers.
The trail Ljubovija - Bele vode - Tornička Bobija belongs to the demanding trails. It is 25.4 kilometers long and is attractive
stage E7 of the European pedestrian route that passes through western Serbia. This path represents the second stage of the route and is on it
practices half-marathon in mountain running.
Bobija is still accessible to every mountaineer, regardless of age and mountaineering experience, it is suitable for
the first hiking steps, because its beauty does not leave anyone indifferent and certainly everyone who sets out for the first time
make the mountain become something he cannot imagine his life without.
What also characterizes it are the sources of cold drinking water, of which there are over a hundred. Springs are specific because they flow from them
alkaline water with a high PH value, and the water temperature is six degrees throughout the year. There are springs like this on Bobija
over 100. The spring "Dobra voda" is especially famous, the locals say that there is no mountain or forest without at least one
of such a source. Two beauties, the river Sušica and Tribuća, flow from under the mountain Bobija, which join together in a passionate embrace.

In the immediate vicinity, there is also a log cabin church dedicated to Saint Tsar Lazar, whose founder is the Chetnik commander, Colonel
Dragoslav Račić.
Almost everything is unpredictable on Bobija, so the weather changes quickly. Those who are at a slightly higher altitude enjoy the snow. Cold
is, the air is clean, the view is beautiful. A walk through dense conifer and beech forests, across spacious pastures and glades, provides
an unforgettable experience of nature. On the grounds around the mountain you can enjoy hiking, hunting or simply relaxing in
untouched nature. With its variety of landscapes and wealth of natural attractions, Mount Bobija is the right place to escape
away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoying peace and quiet.
Due to its characteristic relief, Bobija is interesting for both tourists, nature lovers, and experts in
areas of speleology, ornithology, paragliding and mountains. Those who like horseback riding also like to visit Bobija
hiking in nature or off-road driving in jeeps.
What makes this mountain immensely precious and attractive is its untouched nature. There is none on this mountain
of the urbanized center, nature is preserved, the air is clean and airy. Bobija is an ideal destination for true lovers
mountain tranquility.
