THE TRADITIONAL MITROVDAN FAIR AND THE SIXTH CONSECUTIVE AZBUKOVICA BAZAAR HELD IN LJUBOVIJA

Mitrovdan brings together people, customs and domestic products in the heart of Azbukovica.
It is in Ljubovia again this year the traditional Mitrovdan fair was held, an event that has been gathering locals, friends and visitors from all over Serbia for decades. As part of fair, the sixth Azbukovački bazaar was held, an event that is proudly organized by the Tourism Organization of the Municipality of Ljubovija.

The aim of Azbukovica bazaar is to bring together producers of domestic and traditional products, keepers of authentic recipes and crafts in one place. This year's offer was rich and varied. Visitors could enjoy home-made juices without added sugar, fruit jams, dry fruits plums, liqueurs, cold meats, dried meat and dairy products, pottery, souvenirs and many other works of the hands of local exhibitors.
Producers from Šabac, Loznica, Zlakusa near Užice, Koceljeva, Ub, Osečina, Valjevo, Belgrade, Ruma, Aleksandrovac participated in the bazaar. and, of course, Love.
The students of the High School "Vuk Karadzic" from Ljubovija gave a special stamp to the event, who, with a lot of enthusiasm, prepared and distributed sweets to visitors and participants. The tourist organization of the municipality of Ljubovija planned a meeting with visitors and to the exhibitors called "Afternoon Tea", but that part of the program had to be canceled due to bad weather conditions. However, a warm mood those present managed to replace the sun and tea.

The Mitrovdan fair in Ljubovija has deep roots. It used to be was an opportunity for the locals to buy everything they needed for the winter, at a time when there were almost no stores. Today he is much more - that is the day gatherings, meetings and memories of old customs. This fair, as part of the intangible cultural heritage of the municipality of Ljubovija, continues to live and testify about the richness of Serbian tradition, with the wish that the spirit of togetherness and warmth continue in the years to come.
